Amanta Resources Ltd. is a TSX Venture listed junior mining company, focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the surrounding countries of Southeast Asia.
Amanta’s objective is to become a leading junior mining company in the region, based upon the extensive knowledge and experience of its management and technical team, a sound business strategy and an innovative approach to project acquisition and development.
Southeast Asia is receiving growing attention from the international mining industry, particularly from Australian and Canadian juniors, as the geological potential of the region is increasingly recognized. Historically, regional mineral development has suffered from limitations on capital and technical expertise, outdated minerals legislation and, in some countries, political and civil strife. Political and economic developments over the past decade or so have made the region increasingly attractive as an exploration and development target.
In recent years, a number of precious and base metals mines have been commissioned in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. International companies are pursuing a variety of exploration projects in the region and there are excellent opportunities for entrepreneurial companies, such as Amanta, to assume leading roles in the development of a strong regional mining industry.
Amanta’s senior management and technical personnel have lived and worked in the region for many years. Their combined experience has enabled them to establish valuable contacts and experience with government officials, industry participants, financial instructions and local communities, creating unique advantages for Amanta and providing access to a wealth of information about development opportunities in the region.
Amanta is focused mainly upon precious and base metals projects in Thailand and the neighbouring countries. It has already assembled an impressive portfolio of properties in Thailand and has made application for exploration licences for additional properties in Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.
DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Amanta’s development strategy is to identify, acquire and systematically evaluate the potential of known mineral occurrences, in Thailand, to create early opportunities to finance and develop mines to generate production revenues in the near term. In addition, a number of quality earlier-stage projects are being accumulated, to provide diversity in target minerals and geographical locations for the longer term exploration activities of the company.
To execute this strategy, Amanta has assembled a well-qualified and experienced multi-national management and technical team, structured to capitalize on the wide variety of development opportunities available in the region. Key technical, management and support staff are based in Bangkok, Thailand.
While many of the abundant known mineral occurrences throughout the region have been the scene of small-scale mining of high grade ore, few have been systematically evaluated for their commercial potential. Amanta has acquired, or made direct licence application for, a number of these mineral properties. These include the Langu Gold Project and the Lanna Tungsten Project, where the company controls three former high-grade tungsten mines in Northern Thailand. The commercial potential of the properties, either collectively or on a ‘stand alone’ basis, is being evaluated with the goal of developing early sources of production revenues. Drilling programmes are already underway on the Langu Gold Project and the properties that comprise the Lanna Tungsten Project.
