AMANTA BEGINS 5000 METRE DRILLING PROGRAM AT LANGU GOLD PROJECT
January 31, 2007
Vancouver, Canada - Amanta Resources Ltd. (the Company) is pleased to announce the start of a planned 5000 metre drilling program at its wholly owned Langu Gold project in Satun province, southern Thailand.
The program will comprise an estimated 30 cored holes, and is designed to test several high priority targets over the entire 6 kilometre length of the Langu gold zone. Completion of the program is expected to take 2–3 months. The first hole of the program was started on January 30th 2007 and is expected to be drilled to a length of at least 250 meters.
The Company’s exploration licences at Langu cover approximately 57 sq. km. The geology of the area is dominated by Devonian continental and deep sea marine sediments with dominant fault directions NW and EW and north-south folding axes. Gold mineralization dominantly occurs as stratiform sediment hosted replacement style closely associated with decalcification and partial replacement of calcareous shale by silica. Extensive mapping, sampling and geophysical surveying programs have been completed over the area, resulting in the delineation of several high priority drill targets. These targets will be the focus of the current drill program.
