AMANTA RESOURCES LTD. COMMENCES EXPLORATION PROGRAMS AT THE LANGU GOLD PROSPECT, SOUTHERN THAILAND

Amanta Resources Ltd. (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the commencement of the planned systematic mapping and soil sampling program at its Langu property in the southern Thai province of Satun. The program will cover the 25 km² Special Prospecting License (SPL) area granted by the Thai Ministry of Industry, including the 16 ha. Discovery Quarry where earlier outcropping high grade ‘Carlin-style’ gold mineralization had been recognized and sampled.
The systematic sampling program in the SPL areas is aimed at locating extensions of the known mineralization and to delineate targets for further detailed work and future drilling programs. Up to 2500 samples will be collected during the survey, which will be completed in approximately three months.
The mapping and sampling program has been contracted to Right Tunneling Co. Ltd., a Bangkok based engineering firm. Assay of the samples will be performed at Mineral Assay and Services, MAS, in Bangkok. The Company’s Technical Management staff will supervise the program.
Langu is a gold exploration project centered around an outcropping mineralized area with high grade replacement style, sediment hosted gold in Devonian limestone and shale. Rock samples previously taken in outcropping decalcified limestone of the Discovery Quarry, an old stibnite working, returned assayed values ranging from 4.15 g/t to 36.8 g/t Au, while samples from abandoned quarried stockpile materials had values as high as 153.5 g/t Au.
A tentative strike length of the mineralization in the Discovery Quarry of some 250 meters has been established, while mineralized float (stibnite ore with 12 – 14 g/t Au) has been identified some 2000 meters distant, along a NNE-SSW strike controlled by a high angle fault.
Amanta is presently finalizing contracts for the initiation of the first phase of its planned drilling programs which will commence in the vicinity of the Discovery Quarry. A total of about 2,000 metres of diamond drilling are proposed for this phase.
Amanta Resources Ltd. is focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region.
