LANGU MINING LICENCE EXTENSION APPROVED
December 8, 2004

Amanta Resources Ltd. (the Company) is pleased to announce that the Thai Government has approved an extension to the Mining Licence held by Arun Saprachai Karn Muangrae LP, covering an area of approximately 16 hectares within the Company's 25 km² gold exploration licence area. The extension is for a period of eight years, until 11 June, 2012, and the Licence holder has the right to apply for further extensions to the term of the Licence.

As previously announced, the Company has an agreement with the Licence holder that entitles the Company to full exploration and development rights over the area covered by the Mining Licence. This area includes a former stibnite quarry in which the Company has discovered an outcropping of high-grade sediment hosted gold mineralization.

Langu Gold Project
The Langu gold project is located in Satun Province, in southern Thailand. The project area includes the Mining Licence and two Special Prospecting Licences (SPLs) covering approximately 25 km², and the Company holds a 100% interest in the Project.

The high-grade sediment-hosted replacement style gold discovered in the quarry has strong "Carlin-style affinities". The 25 meter long outcrop in the quarry averaged 20 g/t Au over its entire length, with values over 30 g/t Au. Grab samples from within the quarry have returned values of up to 180 g/t Au. The brecciated limestone and carbonaceous shale host rocks contain abundant pyrite and arsenian pyrite, with gold being associated with the arsenian pyrite.

Line cutting and sampling has established a probable length of the mineralized trend of 250 meters in the quarry area. Outside the quarry area stibnite float with a gold grade of 12 g/t has been located some 2500 meters to the southwest. The Company believes that the area has significant potential for the occurrence of Carlin-style gold mineralization of economic size and grade.

The Company is undertaking a systematic line cutting and sampling program in the exploration area and plans an initial 2,000 metre diamond drilling program in the quarry area to enable a better understanding of the character and extent of the mineralization.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF
AMANTA RESOURCES LTD.
