APPOINTMENT OF SENIOR OFFICERS

Amanta Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of the following senior officers.
Executive Vice-President - Mr. Pieter J. Bakker has been appointed as Executive Vice-President and Chief Geologist. He holds the degree of M.Sc. (Mining and Geology) from the University of Delft, in the Netherlands, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and is a Chartered Geologist, registered in Thailand.
Mr. Bakker has over 35 years experience in the minerals and mining industry, in Africa, S. America and S.E. Asia. A resident of Thailand for almost 20 years, he has served in a number of senior industry positions including Chief, Mineral Resources Section, United Nations ESCAP, Bangkok (1985-1994), Executive Vice-President, Indochina Goldfields and Senior Vice-President and Director of Bong Mieu Holdings (1994-1998) before becoming a Senior Consultant to the minerals industry in Thailand and S.E. Asia.
Mr. Bakker will be based at the company’s Bangkok office and responsible for the exploration and development of the company’s projects.
Vice-President (Corporate Communications) - Mr. Patrick Cauley has been appointed as Vice-President (Corporate Communications). Mr. Cauley who studied journalism at Carleton University, Ottawa, has ten years experience in the junior mining industry, concentrating on investor and media relations, as well as corporate financings.
He has worked for a number of Canadian public companies, including Lysander Gold Ltd., and the Crew Group of Companies. Most recently he served as Manager, Investor Relations, for Asia Pacific Resources Ltd. which is developing a large potash project in Thailand.
Mr. Cauley has traveled on several occasions to Thailand and S.E. Asia and brings much experience and knowledge to his new position with the company. Mr. Cauley will be based in Vancouver, B.C.
Senior Advisor - Ms. Suchada Sanksuwan has been appointed as Senior Advisor, specifically in respect of ongoing operations in Thailand.
Ms. Sanksuwan is a Thai national and holds a B. Arch (Hons) degree from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, and a Master of Management degree (MM) from Chulalongkorn University’s SASIN Business School.
She has served as a Consultant and Advisor to both the minerals industry and the property development industry for a number of years, following a career in Architecture in Thailand and Hong Kong.
She is President of Amanta Ltd., a private Thai development company, and also President of Arial Architects Co.
Ms. Sanksuwan will play an important role in the company’s relations with government departments and the local business and community interests in Thailand, and will assist the company in negotiations for further acquisitions.
The Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Gerald D. Wright will continue in these roles and will divide his time between Bangkok and Vancouver.
Dr. Wright is a Professional Engineer, registered in the Province of British Columbia. He holds the degrees of B.Sc. (Hons.), and Ph.D., in Engineering, from the Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, and has over 30 years experience in the engineering and mining industry.
He was a co-founder of the Crew Group of Companies and served for some 10 years as President and CEO of Asia Pacific Resources Ltd., up to early-2001. He has served on the Boards of Directors for a number of public and private companies in Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom and Thailand.
Amanta Resources Ltd. believes that these appointments will provide a sound technical and management team for the company as it moves forward after its recent reorganization. The company will focus on exploration and development opportunities in Thailand and Southeast Asia, a region it believes to have excellent commercial mining potential.
