Introduction

The Langu gold project is located in Satun Province, southern Thailand. It consists of one mining licence and four Special Prospecting Licences (SPLs), covering an area of about 55 sq km. The property holds significant potential for sediment hosted, replacement style gold mineralization. In the initial stages of exploration, Company geologists sampled float grading as high as 180 g/t Au in the “Discovery Quarry” area. Subsequent work has identified a strongly anomalous gold trend, extending southward for over 6000 metres.

Langu Project Background

Preliminary work at the project resulted in the discovery of a 25 metre outcrop in an old stibnite working, from which samples returned values of up to 30 g/t gold. To gain an indication of the possible extension of the mineralized zone, subsequent programs included line-cutting, grid-sampling and mapping of the “Discovery Quarry” area. Significant gold values (12 – 14 g/t Au) have also been found in limestone rocks mineralized with arsenian-pyrite in an active stibnite quarry roughly 1500 metres south of the Discovery Quarry.

Access to the site is easy and infrastructure in the area surrounding the SPLs is very well developed, as it is throughout Thailand

Exploration Activity

During the first phase of the Langu project, geological mapping, closely-spaced systematic surface soil sampling and assaying programmes led to the identification of a strongly anomalous gold trend extending for some six kilometers, running roughly north-south. Based on these encouraging results Amanta identified six priority target areas for further evaluation. The second phase included an intensive program of detailed mapping at the 1:500 scale, rock sampling and trenching as well as geophysical work, over the priority targets identified in the first phase. The trenching program and Induced Polarization (IP) surveys are now complete, with an Offset Pole-Dipole (OPD) survey over the six target blocks providing the final layer of information prior to drilling.

The 3000 metre trenching programme encountered several significant intersections, including  21 meters @ 1.8g/t Au in trench 1 on the May prospect and 7 meters @ 8.8g/t Au in trench 2 on the Discovery South area. Follow up trenching in the May prospect showed similarly mineralized sections in trenches east and west of trench 1, delineating a 55 meter wide mineralized zone. In many areas, deep overburden exists and trenches did not expose bedrock.

In the spring of 2006 the Company completed an IP survey over the prospect. An initial gradient array survey showed good chargeability anomalies extending over the whole north-south trend of the anomalous gold zone and demonstrated excellent correlation to the known mineralized zones, with the strongest responses occurring on the May prospect and over the extensive silicified cap zone at Banhan.

The Company subsequently extended the survey to include an OPD survey over the six target blocks. The results of this survey facilitated the construction of cross sections to a depth of well over 100 metres and of a 3D model showing chargeability and resistivity patterns within the anomalous gold zone. As with the earlier trenching results, there is a strong correlation with higher grade surface results.

Drilling Program

The Company believes the excellent surface findings hold substantial promise for significant resource potential. The systematic exploration program for the target areas was designed to give the initial drill program the best chance of success.

Based on the extensive information accumulated in this detailed field program Amanta has commissioned a 5000 metre core and reverse circulation drilling program. The first phase of this program is currently underway.
